8-30-2006Wal-MartFinally something new to report. Stopped in two Wal-Mart stores today and found the Endor wave. The first store I stopped in this afternoon had one each Moff Jerjerrod and C-3PO which I bought. After work, because of the earlier find, I hit up my local WM and found both of those figures along with two Chief Chirpa's and one Death Star Gunner. There was also an Emperor figure on the pegs but I left it. So, in one day, I managed to catch up on all the Endor wave figures. The C-3PO is absolutely perfect. Easily the best version to date. Chief Chirpa is also very nice with a great hood and his knife accessory is perfect. The DSG was the letdown for me in this set. The helmet doesn't sit right and while the Jango face sculpt is a nice nod to the prequels, I'd like to have a helmet that fit better. Jerjerrod is what you'd expect from an Imperial Officer; nice but kind of boring. He'll look better when the Death Star Briefing set comes out. TargetTarget is getting some concept art exclusives packed in with their Star Wars DVDs which will be hitting next week. Now that there's a rumored 30th anniversary collected edition for 2007 I'm debating on where to pick up my DVDs next week. I'm thinking Wal-Mart for the comics but the concept art would be cool. Ah, decisions. Dashboard DriverThese new Dashboard Driver figures popped up at a Wal-Mart this week and a Rebelscum.com reader sent in some photos. First I've heard of them, but there is a Yoda, Vader and C-3PO. Kind of interesting. I may check out the Yoda. TargetNothing new on the figure front for a while now but the Titanium series has been popping. Last week I found the B-Wing and TIE Interceptor and today they had another TIE along with the Colonial Raptor from the Battlestar Galactica series. I believe there was also a Home One on the shelf. I passed on both but I'll probably get the Raptor at some point. It's okay looking but not quite as nice as the Viper that's already out. There should be a new Viper in this series but I haven't seen it yet. I'm still wishing that the Titanium license could pick up some other Sci-Fi properties like Babylon 5 and Starship Troopers. Those would be my dream licenses. 8-25-2006SideshowShipping notices for Bespin Han Solo have gone out and I got mine last night. Should have him in a few days. Sideshow also release a 360-degree turnaround for the Padme head. I think you'll need Quicktime in order to see it. The sculpt looks really well done, can't wait to see the finished product. Count Dooku Character Key, from Acme Archives, has now sold out on Sideshow's web site. If you missed it for any reason, get on the wait list. HasbroNew info on two exclusives that are up for pre-order. EntertainmentEarth.com now has the Imperial Death Star Briefing set available for $35.99. They also have new photos up of the carded Carnor Jax and Kir Kanos 2-pack. 8-24-2006TargetFound some new Titanium vehicles on the shelf today including the B-Wing, TIE Interceptor, Sandcrawler and Super Star Destroyer. I snagged the TIE and B-Wing and almost got the SSD but decided $10 was enough for the day. The Battle Masters Attactix sets were restocked. The Republic Gunship with Clone Pilot was on the shelves for only the second time that I've seen They also had new stocking of Carkoon wave figures including Han, Fett and Barada. There were also new stock of the Firespeeder Pilot, Utapau Clone and Commander Cody. They all had red holograms so these aren't old cases that just showed up. I think it's kind of weak that Hasbro is making a case assortment like this available when they should be moving on to the Endor wave and getting ready for the last couple of waves for Christmas. This is the case assortment that I found at Wal-Mart the other day. These figures were not huge sellers, although they sold out, back in December/January when they first hit. It's not a good choice to make them available when we're still choking on holo Ki-Adi-Mundi and the Lushros Dofine. MedicomMedicom has announced a new Vinyl Collectible Dolls figure, Yoda. Hopefully Sideshow will import this one as they have the other figures that have come out like Vader, Fett, Stormtrooper, TIE Pilot and the SDCC exclusive 501st Clone Trooper. I haven't picked up any of the others but the Yoda looks awesome. Medicom has a couple photos on their site. If your web browser asks to install a language pack, just cancel it, you'll still be able to see the photos. 8-23-2006StarWars.comStarWars.com has updated to show off the new disk menus for the upcoming DVD release of the Original Trilogy theater edition. Check out the article on their web site. Wal-Mart is the first retailer with a promo for the new DVD releases. RebelScum.com is reporting that the retailer with have graphic novels available along with the movies. Master ReplicasThe new scaled replica of Boba Fett's blaster goes up for pre-order to Collector Society today if you're looking for it. SideshowWord is out that Han Solo is now shipping from Sideshow. I haven't gotten my ship notice yet but hopefully it won't take too long to get here! Speaking of Sideshow, the new issue of Lee's Toy Review is out and it features the 1:6 scale Jabba on the cover. Check it out if you get a chance. Gentle GiantWord is out that the ROTS Clone Trooper busts should be showing up pretty soon, as in next week if not sooner. Wall Street JournalThe Wall Street Journal covers movie toy licenses and how Star Wars keeps sales going without a motion picture in theaters to support it. It's on the WSJ web site now but look for it be mirrored here later. GI JoeSigma Six, to be exact. Target is running a sale on the new Sigma Six toys this week so be sure to check out your local store. Even the Dragonhawk is on sale but it's only about $3 off. You'll probably get better mileage in the sale on the battle packs and the 8" figures. 8-22-2006Toys-R-UsToys-R-Us stores are having a sale on the Heroes & Villains and Greatest Battles figures. The sale price is $1 off making them $5.99. 8-20-2006HasbroThe new Imperial Briefing room battle pack is now up for pre-order on sites such as BigBadToyStore.com. Following closely on the heels of the AT-AT and X-Wing fighter, TRU's exclusive TIE Fighter has hit retail. Gentle GiantPlenty of new product is now up for pre-order. In the mini bust line Luke and Jango Fett are available. The X-Wing Luke and C-3PO animated Maquettes are also up for preorder as is the Han on Tauntaun statue. Although GG showed the Slave Leia statue at Comic-Con they didn't have it at Gen-Con last weekend. Now Yakface.com is reporting that Carrie Fisher saw it at Comic-Con, freaked, and GG has pulled it to re-work it. No clue if this is reliable although YF.com is saying it's from a good source. More news as it's available. 8-19-2006
Episode 1 Mace Windu Preview FigureIt's been almost 8 years since the Sneak Preview Mace Windu action figure was offered in anticipation of the then upcoming release of The Phantom Menace. Arguably this is still the nicest Mace Windu figure that Hasbro has released and there were also some very nice store displays advertising him. Toys-R-Us and Wal-Mart stores had specialized aisle displays while most stores sold action figures with a sticker attached. Today we offer a look back at the Mace Windu Sneak Preview figure. Wal-MartWM has been going through a toy aisle reset and they finally stocked some new figures this week. I found an Utapau Clone now shipping with a red hologram figure. There were also a Sandtrooper, R5-D4 and other figures. It didn't appear that they stocked full cases, just a few figures. They also finally are carrying the Titanium figures. There were four on the shelves, two each Bossk and Sandtrooper. There were one normal each and one pewter finish. They also have shelf tags for Attacktix which they haven't had in several months. Nothing much new besides that. No new Unleashed or Titanium vehicles. It also doesn't appear that they will be carrying the $20 Starfighter line either. HasbroThe IG-88 and Clone Trooper Titanium figure have been reported as showing up at Target. Also at Target, their exclusive 7" Unleashed figures (repacks of Boba Fett and General Grievous) have also hit. New Battlestar Galactica Titaniums have shown up at Wal-Mart in California along with the TIE Interceptor and B-Wing from the SW line. A few variants have shown up in the 3.75" line including warning stickers on the Vader TIE Fighter and the 4-armed Grievous figure in the Heroes and Villains line. Originally the H&V line showed the 4-arm Grievous figure on the card back but the actual figure was the #36 exploding Grievous. That's now corrected. The final variant, or production change, is on the Endor C-3PO. Initial photos showed that he had unpainted plastic "knee" joints while the upper and lower legs were vac-metalized. A version has just shown up that now has that knee jointed painted silver on the right leg and gold on the left. LegoThe new X-Wing Fighter (set #6212) has shown up at TRU stores. This package contains six mini-figs including Luke, Wedge, Chewbacca, Han Solo, R2 and Princess Leia. I believe it's a TRU exclusive but the model looks to be the same, or at least very similar, to the OTC Dagobah X-Wing (#4502). 8-18-2006SideshowBig Sideshow news from yesterday. The new Count Dooku Character Key, the first in the new collaboration with Acme Archives, this key should be out in September. Running $29.99 each there's a limit of 2. Snag yours before the 1250 piece edition is sold out. The other news is on the Snowbunny Padme front. The winner of last November's fan choice poll, Padme will probably be a 2007 figure. The newest podcast includes a couple photos of the head sculpt for this figure. Check them out.
Next Wednesday's newsletter update should have a 360 degree turnaround for the figure. Gentle GiantWord from GG is that the ROTS Clone Trooper busts are shipping out to distributors and retailers. There's also a pack of bounty hunter Bust-Ups that's shipping this week. HasbroAbout a week ago Hasbro sent word that they will now take any 5 stickers from VTSC figures for a Lucas Stormtrooper figure. So if you have, say, 5 Tusken Raiders you can redeem them for the Lucas figure. Hasbro has even made a downloadable order form available on their web site. It's a PDF file and can be found on this Hasbro page. The UK is getting a free exclusive in the near future. Woolworths will have a VOTC Darth Vader figure available. ToppsTopps is offering a replacement autograph card to anyone that received a damaged autograph card in a pack of the new Evolutions trading card set. Apparently some auto cards were damaged during packaging. The replacement card is a Luke Skywalker Evolution "D" card. You can read about the replacement offer and get the redemption form directly from the Topps web site. Master ReplicasObi-Wan Kenobi's FX lightsaber is now shipping from MR. 8-17-2006TargetTarget restocked with some new figures today. They had the Greatest Battles wave including about 4 Shocktroopers, Obi-Wan, Dooku, R2, green Clone Commander and a Grievous figure. There was even a Bacara from the Heroes & Villains wave but I don't know where he came from. The card was a little worse for wear so it may have been in the back somewhere during their reset. Nothing else of note in the SW field. Ben 10The action figures for the Ben 10 line look really slick and they've had a restock in the last couple of days. Out now are Diamondhead, Upgrade and Ripjaws. I didn't see XLR8, though. Some of the first wave were back including Greymatter, Ghostfreak and Stinkfly. The 6" DNA Alien Heroes figures are also out as are the Alien Rocks and one playset. The Omnitrix F/X came and went fast and hasn't been restocked yet. I'm telling you this line is pulling me in. I have a feeling I'm going to be posting a review of Greymatter any day now... TeaserI just worked a great trade with a fellow PSWCS member for an item I've been looking for on-and-off over the last 7 years. More info tomorrow and some pictures! 8-16-2006SideshowTo some it seemed like Sideshow was taking their sweet time getting their new 12" line into production but now they're rolling along. Hot on the heels of shipping announcements for Han, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu today we received word that pre-orders for Qui-Gon Jinn will begin processing in 20 - 25 days. At this pace maybe Maul can't be far behind! HasbroBack during the San Diego Comic-Con coverage I mentioned that it looked as if we'd be getting a new Titanium Republic Gunship in the Clone Wars deco and now we have hi-rez photos courtesy of GalacticHunter.com. Check it out!! 8-15-2006Acme and SideshowHuge news, the Acme and Sideshow partnership is kicking off with their new character key: Count Dooku! The key will be limited to 1250 and goes on sale exclusively on Sideshows site on August 17. No word on the price or how many keys you'll be able to order per person. But, it's only two days away so get ready! Wizards of the CoastThe Holocron (no relation) has some hi-res photos from Gen-Con this past weekend. They show some of the new figures that'll be out in the Bounty Hunters expansion packs. Check them out. I love the looks of the Skiff and the Trade Federation droids look nice. If you look close you can catch a glimpse of the Snowspeeder in the photos. Now THAT looks awesome. Wal-MartStopped in Wal-Mart in Auburn, NY yesterday and found the VTSC figures on clearance for $5 each. Unfortunately they only had Han, Greedo and Tusken Raider. I'd have loved to have scored a couple Biker Scouts at that price. They also had the 7" Unleashed on sale for $9 and the latest Titanium Gift Pack with the silver Death Star was marked down as well. I forget the price on it but still not something I was looking to pick up. Found Moff Jerjerrod was on the shelf so I know I missed out on the Endor wave. I left the Moff on the shelf as I don't see him being hard to find latter on. TargetNothing new at Target. The toy aisles were just reset and they already look like crap with stuff thrown all over the place. 8-14-2006Gentle GiantThis past weekend was Gen-Con in Indianapolis and their exclusive Mara Jade bust was on sale. According to some reports it appears that this was not a huge seller at the Con. GG is supposed to have this bust, along with any left over SDCC Shocktroopers, for sale on their web site later in the month. Be on the lookout. LegoThe German based web site for Amazon is listing pre-orders for some new product:
No photos but I'd be surprised if the Droid and Clone Trooper battle packs sell to the US market. Hasbro had a problem with the figure packs that Lego sold here a few years back and we haven't seen them since. The General Grievous' Starfighter is the only new vehicle on the list, but the AT-ST, Y-Wing and Landing Craft might be updates of previous sets. 8-13-2006Site updatesI put some more touches on the graphics and layout for the site. I also tried to go through to make sure there weren't any broken links and updated a couple odd pages to make sure they were linking the correct stylesheets. I had the thought of offering the ability to change the color scheme on the site but decided not to. I had it working but trying to figure out a cool way to add a button somewhere to swap out the colors wasn't working so I scrapped it. Maybe in a future design I'll make multiple skins for the site. Anyway, check out the site, hope you like it. The next major updates will be to put new photos on-line and update some others. HasbroMy Lucas Stormtrooper arrived yesterday, finally. The box was a little worse for wear but the figure and clamshell inside were fine. It's a pretty cool looking figure. I still have my second sheet filled out and ready to send it, have to do that soon. The big news for the week is that Hasbro relaxed the requirements on the Lucastrooper mail away. Now you can use any 5 stickers from any of the VTSC figures instead of having to use one from each of them. I guess this is in answer to the Scout Trooper being hard to find as a lot of people bought multiples of him. Both the AT-AT and X-Wing exclusives at TRU are starting to pop. LegoThe newest USC set is a TIE Advanced set. The set is number 10175 and contains 1212 pieces. It's kind of cool but I'll be passing. A while back Lego.com was running a vote to come up with a future USC set, I wonder if this is it? I voted for R2 but maybe they'll make him someday anyway. Speaking of Lego, the newest 2006 sets have shown up at Target. This includes Jabba's Sail Barge and the Star Destroyer. Both nice sets but out of my price range. I keep threatening to sell off my Lego anyway. I should probably get to that. 8-11-2006Plenty of news today. As you can see, new layout and graphics for the site! The previous version was more of a temporary layout, basically just a change in colors and graphics as a placeholder till I had time to do some more work. There are still a couple pages that need new formatting and maybe a link or two, or graphic, that don't work but I'll get it straightened out over the next couple of days. HasbroThe 501st Stormtrooper arrived yesterday and looks great in person. Very unique and attractive packaging. Both of mine have the SDCC exclusive text on them but word is there will be some available (maybe from other e-tailers?) that don't. Maybe I'll get a shot at ordering one more for $15 instead of paying the inflated secondary market prices. The new Han and Chewy Transformer boxed set is going to be shipping in a special edition box that will include two gold plated Titanium vehicles. The ships will be the 3" scale and are a TIE Fighter and Millennium Falcon. Another new Battle Pack has seen the light of day now. Titled "Jedi vs Darth Sidious," the pack will come with Sidious, Mace, Kit Fisto, Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar. It looks okay with Mace, Kit and Saesee having cloth robes. Kit and Saesee have the new Obi-Wan and Anakin cloaks while Mace looks to have the Anakin Evolution cloak. Photos of the repainted Hailfire Droid are out and it looks slick. I'm still debating some of these vehicles but I'm probably going to pass. The only upcoming vehicle I think I may get is Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter. As much as I like both the AOTC and ROTS versions I think I can do without the day-glo green Kit Fisto version. The new X-Wing fighter has been found at Toys-R-Us and the box looks huge! I like the look of the swamp monster and the removable slime looks neat. I hate to say it but I may be buying this! Maybe I can unload my older Saga Dagobah X-Wing to help cover the cost? SideshowNot only have we gotten the 15-20 day notice on Han Solo, but we've also now received the same notice for Obi-Wan. I'm psyched for both figures. Word is also starting to get around that Mace will be on his way shortly as well. Dark HorseDark Horse had a cool giveaway at Comic-Con this year. It's a two-sided poster with trade paperback cover art on one side and a galaxy map on the other. It's a neat item and I was able to pick one up on eBay last week. It's smaller than the maps that came out in the Insider and Star Wars Gamer magazines and it's also less detailed. Still cool, though. Now I just have to see if I can complete a deal for the European exclusive map that came out with the fact files a couple years ago. 8-9-2006TargetStopped in the toy aisle at Target last night and found the Greatest Battles wave. They still had Padme, Wookiee Warrior, 2 501st Tactical Ops Clonetroopers, 2 AT-TE Gunners and C-3PO on the pegs. Passed on them all. I still wish the 501st figures had been given the #41 Clone treatment, or at least the #6 with his quick draw action. They also had two Vader's TIE Fighter on the shelf. Restock on Titanium vehicles including ARC-170, Landspeeder and Naboo Starfighter. HasbroToyShop.comI received my shipping notice yesterday for the two 501st Stormtroopers that I ordered. Still thinking I should have snagged 3, now, so that I could open two of them to go with a Vader figure. Eh, why waste the money. 8-8-2006HasbroThe Blackhole Stormtrooper started showing up from StarWarsShop.com this week. My two showed up on Saturday and look kind of cool. Now that I know they're Carnor Jax' troops I wish I'd picked up another couple to go with that figure when he's released. Well, maybe not, at $13 each, or whatever they were, that's a bit much. The newest Hoth Unleashed Battle Packs are out. These are the sets with Vader, AT-AT Driver and the Hoth Leia sets. Found in Dickson City, PA yesterday (Thanks to Joe K. for the heads-up). New Battle Packs have been shown. One is "Battle Above the Sarlacc" which includes Fett, Luke, Han, Lando and Weequay. The second is "Sith Lord Attack" which has Maul, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and two Battle Droids. I'm passing on both. AcmeAcme Archives has been shipping the new Anakin Skywalker Character Key. The three that I ordered showed up yesterday and look pretty sweet. SideshowBoushh went on sale last Friday and the exclusive promptly sold out. I ended up not buying it. I'm waiting for Leia in a more iconic outfit like the white dress from ANH or even her general gear from Hoth. Wizards of the CoastWotC has previewed a new piece from their upcoming Bounty Hunters expansion and it's a Snowspeeder. Very cool. I can't wait to see more pieces from this set as well as the new space battle set they're starting to pimp out. ToyFareRemember that Fan's Choice poll? Well this is how it all ended up.
* Means that Hasbro has already confirmed that figures are coming. And remember, since Quinlan Vos had already been announced, Darth Revan will be the official Fan's Choice figure and carry the logo. I think since that list was put out Hermie Odle and Willrow Hood have also been confirmed but I'm not 100% on that. Hasbro has said that 10 of the top 25 will see plastic eventually, maybe just not in 2007. I still think Vos was the best choice but Hermie Odle was a close second. 8-4-2006TargetJust an update yesterday's post. There were 8 pegs for 3" Titanium ships and today I realized that 4 are for Star Wars and 4 are for the new Transformers line. Found that out because the TF figures were stocked yesterday. Also there were more Sigma 6 toys stocked as well as a few other lines. No new Star Wars, though. SideshowDon't forget that today is the day for ordering the new Leia as Boushh figure. This is a priority pre-order, not and inclusive edition. Get ready to repeatedly smash the F5 key. HasbroHasbroToyShop.com listed the 501st Stormtrooper again only I believe this version will not have the San Diego Comic-Con sticker on it. Um, okay? I'm just happy I didn't have to shell out $25 for one figure from BigBadToyStore.com. Instead I got two for $14.99 each! The new TRU exclusive Endor AT-AT has been found in California for $89.99. Pass. Code 3EntertainmentEarth.com has an insane deal on the Code 3 Darth Vader TIE Fighter. They're listing it at 70% off for only $99.90. I guess it's a slow seller? Doesn't surprise me. Even though I'm happy to have their Republic Gunship I'm still unimpressed with the detail and accuracy after seeing what they did with the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing. If I could score a Slave I for $100 I might bite, but I don't foresee spending money with Code 3 again any time soon. 8-3-2006Sansweet UpdateI posted part 4 of the Rancho Obi-Wan tour. Hit the multimedia page to download it. I also removed parts 1 and 2 as I needed the server space. Like most Target stores, our locals establishment has been having a huge clearance sale over the last couple of weeks. That clearing out of the product was in anticipation of their big Fall/Winter reset. Today some of the toy section, including the all-important action figure aisle, was reset. Found a lot of new stuff and scoped out what appears to be coming from the Star Wars line as well as some others. Star WarsFirst up, Star Wars. They have 8 pegs for regular TSC figures with 4 next to them dedicated to the Greatest Battles figures. There were 8 pegs also for the 3" Titanium and still shelf tags for Ultra Titaniums and the Titanium figures. Nothing new in any of those sections and there were no figures at all on the Greatest Battles pegs or the second set of 4 Titanium pegs. No new Ultras or figures either, just the same 3 TRI Droid Fighters and a couple Boba and Vader figs. There's shelf space for the $20 electronic lightsabers and the ultimate lightsaber kit. I believe there were 3 or 4 pegs for the $10 lightsabers, 2 pegs for Force Battlers and 4, I think, for Galactic Heroes. The $19.99 starship line has shelf space next to the ultimate lightsaber kits. Four pegs for 2" Unleashed but nothing new stocked, just some leftover Wookiee sets. Shelf tags for the new Unleashed environments were in place and they had the Snowspeeder and Rebel Base sets. Pegs also for Transformers and a shelf tag for the Chewy/Han boxed set. Next to SW are the Transformers and not knowing much about them I can't comment. On the other side of the TF figures from SW is the Attacktix. Now they are in plastic encased packaging and have 2 figures for, I think, $4.99. There were about 8 pegs and they were shared between Star Wars and the new Transformers Attacktix. On the shelf below they have a new starter set that's actually awesome; Boba Fett and Greedo vs Han and Chewy. I forget the price. Battle Masters sets were out including the new Republic Gunship with animated Clone Wars deco and a packed in Clone Pilot. There were also new Transformers Battle Masters set. Both flavors were $14.99. On the bottom shelf is the huge boxed set of SW vs TF Attacktix. Two large Battle Masters (AT-RT and a Transformer) on the bottom with 4 figs on top including Vader, Tatooine Luke and 2 TF's....$19.99 which is an insane price for all you get in that set! There were no new TSC figures stocked nor were there any new starfighters or Hoth Unleashed sets. Same 3" Titanium vehicles as well. Most of the new stuff was Attacktix and the Han and Chewy boxed Transformers set. ATOMHasbro's new ATOM line is out and has some awesome looking stuff in the 5" range. It's basically the re-imagination of Action Man from the UK...sort of the same type of revamp that GI Joe underwent with the Sigma 6 line. This line is more friendly to vehicles, though, and they have a car and a huge van out. Looks like a nice line. Ben 10Ben 10 from Bandai is now in general release instead of being a TRU exclusive. This line actually looks awesome and one line of figs are generally in the 4" range. There's one alien that would look great in a Mos Eisley Cantina scene. I'm almost tempted to collect the line it looks so cool. I may have to check out the cartoon on Cartoon Network. Sigma SixSpeaking of the Sigma 6 stuff, the new, smaller figures and vehicles were stocked and they look incredible. I thought they were basically Unleashed but they're not. Several vehicles including a dune buggy, boat and mech suits. The figs have a couple points of articulation and aren't bad looking. The Dragonhawk is huge and brilliant looking! Incredible stuff, in my opinion, from Hasbro. It's too bad so many hardcore Joe fans have written off this new stuff. They might be missing out, it brings a lot of the play value back to Joe that hasn't been there since the 80's. MiscThere are some new figures out with knights and Vikings...I forget what company but maybe bbi? I forget, I was in overload by this point. Plenty of superhero figures including the new 12" Marvel figs (Wolverine, Iron Man) with ML-style articulation. Not bad looking. Newest wave of ML figs and plenty of DC stuff including Batman and Justice League Unlimited stuff...although I hear that line is winding down? Not a lot of Pirates of the Caribbean stuff at Target but they still have pegs. Most of the larger stuff is on clearance now including the $9-ish sets, the ship playset and the role play stuff. No mill playset either on clearance or otherwise. What esle? Hmmm...On TMNT. Does anyone buy this? Lot's of stock but I don't see it sell that much around here. Still a Power Rangers section. Um...that's all I can remember. Anyway, good stuff out there in the toy world. I'm actually impressed with Ben 10, ATOM and the new mini Sigma 6 stuff. And I can't wait to see the new SW stuff hit, including new 3" Titanium, figures and that Hoth Unleashed set with the AT-AT Driver. Acme ArchivesRazor's Edge will have their allotment of Anakin Skywalker character keys on Friday at noon EST. This may be the last shot at these before they all disappear into the secondary market. SideshowThe 15 - 20 countdown on Han Solo has started with an email yesterday from Sideshow. Apparently there are still some issues with Obi-Wan that have delayed him again. 8-2-2006Acme ArchivesIf you ordered an Anakin Character Key from Acme before Comic-Con be on the lookout for your shipping notice. I got mine yesterday and my keys should be here in a couple of days. Gentle GiantGG put up their Mara Jade bust for pre-order yesterday. They allotted 500 for members attending Gen Con later this month. Apparently they'll sell more at the show with some held back for the collector club. They'll probably go on sale with the Comic-Con Shocktrooper bust later this month. HasbroWord has come through from Hasbro that we may see more of the Comic-Con exclusive 501st Stormtrooper on HasbroToyShop.com. I know I'll be on the lookout for it! Fan ClubThe newest edition of the Insider showed up in the mailbox a couple days ago. So far nothing great in it but they do have some photos of the new Sideshow Jabba, Boushh and Bib figures. Surprisingly enough this info didn't leak out before Comic-Con and their big announcement. SideshowSpeaking of Boushh, don't forget that this Friday is the pre-order for that figure. I don't think it's an Inclusive Edition figure so be ready to battle the unwashed masses that'll be F5'ing the servers into submission. 8-1-2006SideshowThe Darth Sidious character key that I ordered on eBay showed up yesterday. I picked up #88 out of the limited edition of 500. It was a pretty good pickup for the price I paid and since it was exclusive to Comic-Con, which I never would have gone to, and it was the most limited I'm pretty happy with the price. Code 3After skipping Comic-Con this year Code 3 has put out the word that they are still in the Star Wars business and they plan on completing the 3D movie poster line that they've been working on. No word on new vehicles. TargetTarget is pretty much cleaned out of their SW clearance items. Stopped in on Sunday and the rest of the Skirmish in the Senate Battle Packs were sold through. There weren't any more VTSC or Demise of Grievous on the shelves but I don't know if they sold or were pulled for some reason. I have trouble believing that the Grievous sold through 20 pieces in one day but maybe at $3.24. Tuesday MorningWord is out that Tuesday Morning stores have been receiving some Master Replicas .45 scaled lightsabers. I checked the local store but I didn't find anything. Have to check back later in the week. HasbroNothing really new from Hasbro. Still haven't seen the latest wave of figures here but it's early. Target probably won't reset till they finish off this current clearance and reset for Fall. On a side note, the Auburn Wal-Mart is buried in VTSC figures at full price. And I even found a bunch of them at the local Tops store. Odd. There's a new Battle Masters Attactix Gunship coming out this year with the animated Clone Wars paint deco. Can't wait to pick that up. StarWars.comPart 4 of the Rancho Obi-Wan tour is now posted on StarWars.com for Hyperspace members. I'll probably have it here later on. |
