Sideshow

As I write this the pre-order for Bib Fortuna is literally just minutes away.  About 20 to be exact.  This is an exclusive edition so you're gonna need to order it today if you want the exclusive version which comes with a ceremonial staff as a nod to the vintage Kenner figure.

Boushh is going on pre-order next week on August 4th.  The exclusive will have a blaster and I believe this will be an exclusive edition also.  That one will probably be a quick sell out as it's both a cool bounty hunter, has an insanely accurate head sculpt and it's the first 12" scale female figure from Sideshow since they got the SW license.

Pre-orders for the Sideshow-imported VCD TIE Pilot are also live now.

Target

Scored big at Target last night.  Usually they do their markdowns on Wednesday but this week it either happened really late on Wed. or they did them overnight.  Anyway, I found about 5 Skirmish in the Senate Battle Packs for $4.95 and picked up two.  Demise of Grievous was marked to $3.24 and they had probably two dozen left.  The VTSC Han and Greedo figures that are still hanging around were marked to $2.98 which is insane.

I snagged a DoG with my Battle Packs and the total was just about $1 more than the DoG figure was originally!  Today, Friday, they still had DoG and VTSC figures but the Battle Packs were sold out.

I bought two Battle Packs at original retail and two more last night.  I almost could have bought one more set just for the Senate Pod but couldn't really bear another Yoda and Sidious figure!  Plus I rounded out my Shocktrooper collection at 10 and that's a good number.  If I really want another Shock or two I think they're shipping again in the "Greatest Battles" wave.  That'll be the ROTS-06 figure but I still maintain that's a good figure.

Other Target sales include the GI Joe Sigma 6 motor cycle for $3.24 and some of the Pirates of the Caribbean sets for $3.98 down from $8 or $9.

Hasbro

Speaking of that "Greatest Battles" wave, it's been hitting retail.  I think the only reports so far are from California but I'm sure it'll make it's way east pretty soon.

Previews is advertising for three Battle Packs including Arrest of Palpatine with Mace, Kit, SaeSee and Agen plus a Palpatine figure.  Pit of Carkoon with a Fett, Luke, Han and a couple other figures.  The third is a Theed Hanger set and appears to have Maul, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and some other figures.

Check out 4-inches.de for photos.  They seem to have broken the news right before Comic-Con but till now we hadn't seen any more on two of the packs.  The Pit of Carkoon was shown at Toy Fair.

Master Replicas

The Studio Scale Millennium Falcon is on sale now and it's not cheap.  It's not even as (relatively) affordable as the AT-AT was.  The Falcon is retailing for $2,199 while a Harrison Ford signature edition is selling for $2,799 and limited to 500

Acme Archives

The new Anakin Skywalker character key has been selling out every time it hits the web.  Acme sold out of their allotment last night while a couple more popped up today and disappeared almost immediately.

Razor's Edge Collectibles is probably your next best shot.  Keep an eye on them.

7-27-2006

Sideshow

This Friday is pre-order day for the new Bib Fortuna figure.  This is not an Inclusive Edition so if you're a Priority Pre-Order member you may want to jump on it.

Gentle Giant

GG is going to be selling leftover Shocktrooper busts in August after GenCon.  Keep an eye on the GG blog for further info.

Master Replicas

I keep running across photos fro Comic-Con of the MR booth and there are photos of Medalionz coins from Cards Inc.  I haven't found a write-up yet on why they were showing them unless they're going to be a US distributor.

Anyone have any info?

Commemorative Tin Collection

This fall, probably October, Hasbro will be releasing 7 commemorative tins, one for each movie plus an exclusive.  Each tin will have 4 figures (Except the exclusive) and graphics from the movie that it corresponds to.

The tins will be packaged, open, with carded figures facing out while the graphics are viewable from behind.  Check JediDefender.com or most other collecting sites for photos.

Here's the rundown on the figures.

  1. Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace
    • Darth Maul:  Evolutions
    • Obi Wan Kenobi:  EP1 Jedi Duel w/ soft goods cloak
    • Qui Gon Jinn:  EP1 Jedi Master w/ soft goods cloak
    • R2 R9:  Repaint of VOTC R2-D2
  2. Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones
    • Clone Trooper Lieutenant:  Evolutions
    • Anakin Skywalker:  Evolutions
    • Jango Fett:  Kitbashed Saga Kamino Escape (02-13) and Slave I Pilot (02- 47)
    • Count Dooku:  Evolutions
  3. Episode 3  -Revenge of the Sith
    • Mace Windu:  ROTS 05-10
    • Yoda:  ROTS 05-03 w/ soft goods cloak
    • Anakin Skywalker:  Evolutions
    • AT-RT Driver:  ROTS 05-54 white repaint

    • Darth Vader:  Evolutions or 500th?  Removable helmet
    • C-3PO:  VOTC
    • Sandtrooper:  VOTC Stormtrooper w/ pauldron, removable helmet and Jango head
    • Princess Leia:  Early Bird

    • Luke Skywalker:  Saga 04-03
    • Snowtrooper:  Saga 03-19 w/ removable helmet and Jango head
    • Han Solo:  Saga 03-13 and appears to be the brown coat
    • Chewbacca:  VOTC. Head looks a little different but that may be the photos.
  6. Episode 6 - The Return of the Jedi
    • Darth Vader:  VOTC?  Evolutions?
    • Scout Trooper:  VTSC w/ flip up visor and Jango head
    • Endor Rebel Trooper:  POTF2 w/ new head and removable helmet
    • Princess Leia:  Endor Celebration from Princess Leia collection 2-pack
  7. WM Exclusive Figrin D'an and The Modal Nodes
    • Figrin D'an
    • Doikk Na'ts
    • Ickabel G'ont
    • Tedn Dahai
    • Tech Mo'r
    • Nalan Cheel

Note: There are 5 figures in the Modal Nodes set so one of these guys is not there.  Also they are supposed to have soft goods.

Overall I'm not that impressed.  The AOTC tin has 3 great Evolutions figures in the set but a rather lame Jango.  The rest of the sets, although there are some decent figures, really only have 1 "new" character in them.

Probably the best set is the WM exclusive Modal Nodes tin which includes 5 figures that we haven't seen in about 8 years.  The upgraded soft goods is a nice touch and may be the only one that I buy although the EP1 set is nice for the Astromech droid and the Evolution Maul which I don't have loose at this time.

Hasbro

The Endor wave is hitting stores now with at least two reports out of PA that TRU has had them.  This wave has some incredible figures in it including a nicely articulated C-3PO, Chief Chirpa and a killer Death Star Gunner!  Moff Jerjerrod is also a nice figure and will fit in well with the Death Star Briefing 7-pack coming later this year.

New repainted Titaniums have been announced including the Swamp Speeder, Y-Wing, Droid Tri Fighter and TIE Fighter.  Pass.  But bring on the other new vehicles that Hasbro showed off at Comic-Con!

The new Rogue Two Snowspeeder with Zev Senesca has hit retail in Canada so it shouldn't be too much longer before they show up at Target on this side of the border.

The 501st Stormtrooper has shown up on the HasbroToyShop.com web site again but is still listed as out of stock.  I'm hoping this is in anticipation of them selling the Comic-Con leftovers.  Need to keep an eye on the site.

Target

Target still has a lot of VTSC and Demise of Grievous figures for clearance prices...if you can call $9 and change "clearance."  Hopefully today they'll drop again more than the 30% they've dropped so far.  If I can score a DoG and a couple more Tusken Raiders for about $4 each I'll buy.

Skirmish in the Senate battle packs were also down to $13.98 but on the next drop I think I'll pick up two more sets.  As much for the pod as anything.  I really don't want two more loose Yoda and Palpatine figures but 4 more Shocktroopers would be cool.

Sideshow

Today is the last day to get in on the Inclusive Edition Jabba the Hutt 1:6 figure.  If you've got a spare $300 I'd recommend getting it.  I'm passing but mostly because of his size and price tag.  It's a great looking figure.

Master Replicas

The new Studio Scale Millennium Falcon is now on sale from MR.  I think it's up for order from Collector Society members first.

Speaking of MR, I finally broke down and ordered my first .45 scale lightsaber.  I picked up Vader's ESB model from eBay for about $20.  I think it will go well with my Riddell mini helmet.  Can't wait for it to get here.

Acme Archives

With the announcement at Comic-Con that Acme and Sideshow have teamed up, many collectors are excited by what may be coming.

Already rumored; Durge, Dooku, Kit Fisto and Ayla Secura.

I'm in for any and all of them as long as they are in the Cartoon Network animated style.

Northside Collectibles had the Anakin key on sale today but sold out in about 45 minutes.  Razor's Edge, Acme Archives Direct, StarWarsShop.com and Most Wanted Collectibles will all have some available at a later date.  Keep your eyes open.

Bit the Bullet

I broke down last night and hit a BIN on eBay for the Comic-Con Sidious key.  Number 88/500 and by using the BIN I avoided shipping charges.  Good feedback on the seller so unless something bad happens I think I'm in good shape.

Anakin is on order so if everything works out I'll be all caught up on the keys.

Toy Show

This weekend is the Pittsburgh Toy Show.  If you're in the area check it out.  Billy Dee Williams will be signing autographs!

7-23-2006

Comic-Con

Things are still popping after the announcements for the final 22 figures for 2006.  The 4-pack tins, vehicles, Republic Commando and Imperial Officers set...Lots of good stuff to go this year.

JediDefender, GalacticHunter and RebelScum all have huge photo galleries so check them out.

Hasbro

One of Hasbro's biggest announcements was the continuation of the 2006 The Saga Collection.  Originally slated for 52 figures they expanded to 74 with the following 22 characters.

# Character Notes
53Darth Maul (Sith Training) Saga 02-42
54Chewbacca (Cloud City Capture) Saga 02-38
55Kit FistoClone Wars 03-49
56Commander Cody Holo TSC 06-24
57442nd Siege Battalion Clone Trooper ROTS #41, green.
58R5-A1 Imperial Astromech R5-D4 repaint, black.
595th Fleet Security Clone Trooper ROTS #41, blue.
60Clone Trooper Sergeant AOTC style, green. CW SA?
61Super Battle Droid Saga Deluxe camo repaint
62Battle Droid 2-pack EP1?  Camo paint.
63Obi-Wan Kenobi Holo ROTS 55
64Clone Commander Appo ROTS blue w/ puldron.
6541st Elite Clone Trooper VTSC Biker Scout repaint with cammo.
66Yareal Poof
67Vader's Imperial Astromech Black
68PadmeSaga Droid Factory w/ new head
69Clone TrooperROTS repaint. Possible Evo or Tank Gunner
70Kitik Keed'kakSaga repaint
The following four figures will be Wal-Mart Exclusives.
71Nabrun Leids/KabePOTF2 repaint
72LabriaPOTF2 repaint
73Aurra SingPOTJ repaint
74Mace Windu's Astromech Purple

While there are several new characters in there, they are all direct repacks or re-paints of previously available figures.  Mostly the Clone Troopers and Astromech droids are new characters as that's easy to do with paint.

Personally I'm looking forward to the new Astromech droids, Clone Troopers, Aurra Sing and Kitik Keed'kak as I don't have one loose.  Also potentially interesting are Yareal Poof and Kit Fisto as Poof will now have a lightsaber and possibly tweaked sculpt and that Kit Fisto was hard to find in the CW line.

Look for the first of these new figures in mid to late November, just in time for Christmas shopping.

For 2007 Hasbro has confirmed that the curved end piece of the Cantina bar will be released.  Later in the year or possibly in 2008 they're talking about the center console as well.  Very good news!

Comic-Con - All pictures linked to JediDefender.com

Hasbro has their Q&A today and along with some news we've already seen we're finding out that there will be a pack of Republic Commandoes next year including Scorch, Sev, Fixer and Delta 38.  Looks to come with 3 Geonosians as well, Sun Fac and two others.  EE, HasbroToyShop and StarWarsShop exclusive.

New TIE Fighter, several new Jedi Starfighters both AOTC and ROTS design and Cinema Scenes including a 6 pack of Imperial officers.

McQuarrie Stormtrooper is coming back with a redeco and we're getting an Airborne Trooper in Utapau colors.

Comic packs.  On the heels of the successful GI Joe line of figure 3-packs with a comic reprint, Hasbro is partnering with Dark Horse to release 2-packs of figures with a comic repaint.  The figures appear to be repaints or kit-bashed and will come with paint decorations to make them look like the comic version.  Shown are Chewy and Han in Stormtrooper (looks like VOTC Stormtrooper body), Vader and Rebel Fleet Trooper (Unknown Vader but w/ soft goods, POTJ RFT), Tarkin and Stormtrooper (ROTS or bashed Tarkin and maybe CommTech Trooper).

Galactic Marine, Mustafar Lava Miner both look hot as does the Airborne Trooper in Utapau deco.  I need multiples of both of those troopers.

Sideshow

Jabba Inclusive Edition is now up for sale on Sideshow's web site.  I've decided that I'm not ready to give up having a bed in my apartment to make room for Jabba.

Update 3:10pm

Hasbro

Looks like there's an Imperial Officers Battle pack coming, at least they're showing 4 or 5 IO figures.  Still under wraps but photos have hit the net.

Also we should see the Sith Infiltrator soon, maybe after the Q&A tomorrow.

Rumors of new Republic Commandos is out but the photo evidence is sketchy at best.  More when they remove the black sheets from the cases.

Missing seems to be the Imperial Shuttle that was rumored for Target.  None of the covered items look big enough but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Update 3:00pm

Acme Archives and Sideshow Collectibles have announced a partnership that will see Sideshow selling some exclusive art from Acme.  Character Keys will play into this partnership but it sounds as if higher end items will follow.

Further info will be out in August.  Read the press release on Sideshow's web site.

501st Stormtroopers sold out this morning but the web site crashed hard during the sales period.  Missed out.

Update

RebelScum.com has put up photos from preview night at Comic-Con.  Most of it's stuff that you could already spot if you looked through GalacticHunter.com's photos last night.

However, one shot caught my eye, it appears that the Titanium line is going to give us another Republic Gunship!  Looking at this photo it appears to be the Clone Wars color scheme of the ship.  I'll have to look through the GH photos again to see if I can find a better shot of it.

Also of note, the Titanium line is giving us an AOTC version of Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter with the Hyperspace ring!  Check it out.  Good things coming from the Titanium line.

Hasbro

HasbroToyShop.com has the Comic-Con exclusive items on sale on it's web site this morning.  Unfortunately, at this time the site is fragged.  Hopefully I can get in on that 501st Stormtrooper.  Also of note, all items are 1 per person.  That sucks.

Comic-Con

Wow.  Just too much information to process all at once.  The Sideshow items that were shown last night are totally insane.  Much better pictures of Jabba are up on GalacticHunter.com so check them out.  It's freakin' huge!  I'm probably going to pass on the entire set (Boushh, Bib, Jabba and his accessories).  No room first, no money second.  Plus I think I'd like to hold out for an ANH Leia instead of her in the Boushh disguise.

Hasbro photos have also hit but nothing completely shocking yet that I've seen.  We've either seen it already or it's just updated vehicles.  There are a couple surprises in what figures were chosen for various repacks but that's about it.

Speaking of Hasbro, can't wait till later today when the Comic-Con 501st Stormtrooper goes up for sale.  I'm probably going to score at least two.

Gentle Giant is showing a slave Leia statue, animated Luke and C-3PO maquettes and busts of 4-LOM (vintage name so, really, Zuckuss), Plo Koon, Dengar and Luke Jedi.  The Luke Jedi is kind of boring but I love me some bounty hunters.  Plo Koon also looks good.  Oh, and Jango is getting a new sculpt.

Acme Archives

Acme put their new key on sale last night.  Anakin Skywalker is limited to 1000 pieces and it looked like they split them 500/500 for Comic-Con and the web.  Ordered up 3 keys to cover me and two others.

Sideshow

Kit Fisto arrived yesterday and is a nice looking figure.  I'm thinking about unloading this one also.  Luke's already up on eBay and Kit may not be far behind.

I still want Mace and Han but I'm definitely canceling Qui-Gon.  Oh, Obi-Wan is still a go as well.  I'm thinking now I should have skipped the regular Anakin and bought the Comic-Con Anakin/Vader 12" instead.  Then I could have him and Obi-Wan battling it out.

Eh, hindsight.

Target

Target dropped the price a little more on the VTSC, Senate Skirmish Battle Packs and Demise of Grievous figures.  Still not buying.  If the Skirmish set gets around the $5 mark I'll buy.  We'll see.

Also new stock on the Tatooine wave with Garindan and Hem Dazon on the shelves last night.  Not much else, however.  Very slow time in SW collecting right now.

7-19-2006

Update 2

Check out GalacticHunter.com who seems to have scored some of the early photos of the new Jabba, Bib and Boushh figures.  The likeness of Carrie Fisher on the Boushh figure is insane!

Update

First photos from Sideshow's booth are hitting the web thanks to their web cam.  First up is the announcement that the Scum & Villainy line will debut with Bib Fortuna but be followed up by Boushh and Jabba!!!  Here are some first-look pictures.

Comic-Con

Today is the kickoff day for Comic-Con as far as most of the presenters are concerned.  Stay tuned to your favorite SW collecting site for info.

Hasbro

GalacticHunter.com is reporting that an e-tailer has a list of new figures coming late this fall or early 2007.  Nothing specific but it's an interesting list if accurate.  Check it out on GH's site.

7-18-2006

Shit that was fast

And the exclusive Sidious character key sold out in less than 2 minutes yesterday afternoon.  I was not able to purchase one so it looks like it's off to the secondary market to pick one up.  There are a couple on eBay that had BIN's of around $80 which might not actually be that bad.

However, I'd have to part with a Padme or ARC first.  Hopefully the prices won't jump that much before I can offload them.

Anakin is going on sale starting this Wednesday night at 8:00pm EST.  I hope I don't miss out on this one as well.

Comic-Con

A new company headed by the former VP for Palisades called Creatus Maximus will have two killer exclusives at Comic-Con this year.  From the line called Smart Bombs they're an R2-D2 and C-3PO painted Fat Man and Little Boy.

You can check out pictures and info on the forums at CreatusMaximus.com.  The 2-pack of R2 and C-3PO is going to be limited to 269 pieces at Comic-Con.  I need this set, it's totally awesome!

WOTC Minis

Saturday was a fun day playing a couple games of minis at Essential Comics in Pennsylvania.  There were a few PSWCS members in attendance as well as some local gamers.

I got my butt handed to be by Jeff with his swarming Ewok attack!  I did get a little revenge in the second game when Han Solo's lone force point allowed an attack re-roll that sealed the match for me.

Also played a couple against Joe K. and pulled out some wins.  I found that Emperor Palpatine is a very potent character but so is Zam Wesell with her Kouhun Infestation.  That could have done me in.

Hasbro

Today in "WTF, Hasbro?" we ask; what were you thinking with the "Greatest Battles" and "Heroes and Villains" waves of ROTS repacks?

The latest figures in the 2006 repack waves have shown up in photos on 4-inches.de and include H&V Grievous (ROTS 09) and Greatest Battles R2-D2 (ROTS 48), Obi-Wan (ROTS 55), Emperor Palpatine (ROTS 12) and Clone Commander (ROTS 33 green).

I almost don't mind seeing Obi-Wan as this is a great sculpt, however it's already currently available (and not selling) in the Saga collection (Saga-028) with a much better cloak.  Although this repack will have his pilot headgear it's a wasted release.  The Clone Commander is a decent choice as it's an incredible sculpt and the green variant didn't see wide release.

The rest are more of a waste.  The Grievous with 4 arms looks terrible although decently articulated.  There hasn't been a really nice fig of this character released yet.  Emperor Palpatine is absolutely terrible.  Not only is he currently available but this version was a dusty left-behind last year when he debuted.  He's also currently available in a discounted Battle Pack at Target.

As for R2, this is the electronic version and, while not completely sucking, is the third R2 figure this year.  The Hoth wave at the front of the year included a repack of last year's Early Bird mail away figure while the first H&V release included the ROTS 07 figure.  We still don't have a definitive R2 although a really nice one was shown in the initial report of the upcoming TRU Dagobah X-Wing.

There are way too many figures hanging around in the stores right now and these repacks make up a fair share of them locally.  They should, instead, see about refresh waves of popular characters rather than taking this approach.  I know a lot of people that would love to see more Cody, Scorch or even AT-AT Drivers and Snowtroopers...none of which hung around for more than 5 minutes.

I wouldn't even mind if Hasbro had cut down on the amount of figures for the year and spread them out a little more.  We had the first three waves by something like February.  I think that may have been compensation for poor stocking during the Christmas season but it was still too quick.  That almost forces them to repack figures from last year when they really didn't need to.  Besides, with the line switching up for the DVD release and 30th anniversary next year, less is more.

In other Hasbro news...

The Endor wave has hit in California.  The game is afoot.

Acme Archives

Don't forget that today at 1:00pm EST Acme will be putting up 50 Darth Sidious character key's for sale to people not attending Comic-Con later this week.

Mattel News

Mattel?  Sure.  Apparently they have just obtained the license to the 1960's Batman TV show version of the Batmobile.  Rumor is they will produce some toys of this version and possibly some action figures based on the characters.

Look for an announcement at Comic-Con this week.

Kubrick

Not only was I able to pick up some of the newest series from Doc and Randy this weekend but photos of the next 400% figure have hit the web.  The Japan toy show turned up photos of a 400% Vader with removable helmet.

There was also a 400% Stormtrooper in the case with him but it's unknown yet if this is a regular Stormy or if it's a Luke or Han just with the helmet on (they've already been released).

Oh, as for what I picked up this weekend, I got X-Wing Luke, R4-M9, Death Star Trooper, TIE Pilot and RA-7.  Just need to score a Rebel Trooper for the complete wave.  The chase Tarkin, Imperial Officer and Wedge are cool but I'd have to wait and see what the secondary market price on them is before deciding if I'll track any of them down.

7-14-2006

Hasbro

Starwars.com pimped out the new 2007 card and box art today and it'll officially debut at Comic-Con next week.

I actually love it.  Very eye-catching, innovative and completely different than anything that's out today.  Hopefully they won't go with the tape seal.

New packaging debuted for the Titanium figures and they're showing repacked Vader and Fett.  Like the current ones aren't selling slow enough, let's repack and sell them again.

Sideshow

Pre-orders for the Premium Format Boba Fett started today on Sideshow's web site.  Price is $324.  Pre-orders from Sideshow's site comes with a Mandalorian artifact that is cool as hell.  I'd buy that by itself.

Hasbro Finances

Second quarter earnings are about to be released from Hasbro next week and, in no big shocker, profits are off from last year's Star Wars movie year.

Check it out.

7-13-2006

Hasbro

New photos are out of the Endor and Naboo wave figures.  The Dud Bolt and Mars Guo figures look great.  Can't wait for them to drop.

Word also was out today that we can expect to see a new Mara Jade figure in 2007.  I'm very pleased by this news.

The Hunt for Grievous Battle Pack I ordered arrived today and overall I'm not thrilled with it.  Captain Fordo and the heavy gunner aren't bad but the repacked ARC troopers kind of suck.  I knew what to expect as I have some from the original release but these seem to be made out of softer plastic and were all deformed coming out of the package.

Also received my 12" GI Joe convention exclusive today which is insane!  Can't wait for the weekend to really break it out and put it all together.

Fan Club

The 2006 membership kits arrived today.  Very boring.  I'd rather have a $5 break in subscription price than receive this thing every year.

Gentle Giant

GG surprised us by springing a Plo Koon bust announcement on us today.  Looks good and I may pick one up.  Maybe.

7-12-2006

Lots of updates to get in today.  First up are the new graphics for the site.  They're still a work in progress.  I need something more for the banner and that menu needs work.  It'll come.

WOTC Minis

This coming Saturday at Essential Comics a bunch of us are getting together for a SW minis game.  Should be fun and maybe I'll even pick up a booster or two of the new expansion pack.

Leia's Bikini

Wired Magazine published a story this week on Princess Leia's bikini from Return of the Jedi.  It's a short, fun article with the only issue I see is the misidentified photo for "DragonCon, Indiana."  Sorry, that's Celebration 3.

Hasbro

Fan's Choice winner has been announced and it's Quinlan Vos, sort of.  He was the top vote getter in the poll but since he was already slated for next year, Hasbro decided to make number 2, Darth Revan.  Supposedly they're also making another figure from the top 25, one that hasn't already been announced.

That was in the new Toy Fare which also included info that Carnor Jax is the second figure in the 2-pack with Kir Kanos.  We kind of already knew that but it's nice to get confirmation.

The George Lucas Stormtrooper is hitting mailboxes this week.  I see that my check has cleared for my figure so hopefully it'll be here sooner rather than later.  I have all the tags to order up my second figure, just have to get on the ball and mail it out.

Photos of the Naboo wave of figures have hit...ho hum.  There might be one or two I'll pick up but not the entire wave like recently.

Also showing is a photo of an Episode 3 multi-pack similar to the ones for last fall's DVD release.  It has new Saga packaging but it's Mace, Obi-Wan and Anakin again like before.

Box photos of the AT-AT are out and show that it'll come with the Saga AT-AT Driver and a POTJ Biker Scout with a new head that has a flip-up visor revealing a Clone face.

France is getting a poster in their Lucasfilm Magazine that has all of the 2006 line on it.  Probably the same one as Hasbro is slated to have at Comic-Con.  Looks good, I'll have to try and pick up a copy.

Target is getting the next wave of exclusive Unleashed figures.  We're getting repacked General Grievous and Boba Fett in their new tube packaging.

Also at Target is the exclusive Kit Fisto Jedi Starfighter.  Another repaint of the AOTC Starfighter this one comes in (shock) green.  Maybe, maybe not.  Not sure.  I like that design but do I need another Starfighter?

The Hunt for General Grievous battle pack exclusive to TRU showed up on their new web site and I ordered one the other day.  Still hasn't shown up but at least it was listed as in stock when I ordered it.

Fan Club

RebelScum.com's Dustin Roberts was announced as the winner of the Fan Club President contest.  No huge surprise even though USCWannabe had a 100 vote lead on him.  Meh.

The shit definitely hit the fan over this one with several people voicing displeasure on the RS.com forums.  The thread is locked and cleaned out, don't bother looking for it.

Hallmark

This weekend will be the preview for the new 2006 Hallmark ornaments.  There are a couple SW ornaments slated for this year.  Not sure if they'll all be out this week but usually one or two get held back for October.

Sideshow

Kit Fisto is on his way to front porches everywhere.  This is the third installment from Sideshow and I'm kind of psyched to see him.

The next family of 12" figures from Sideshow has been announced as "Scum and Villainy."  Two rumors on the first figure; Boushh and Jabba.  Tom Hodges was pimping out art at Wizard World Philly that shows what the real Boushh alien looked like.  Possible exclusive head?  Another source heard Jabba may be the first figure but Greedo is also getting high votes from the forums.

Gentle Giant

They put up their San Diego exclusives today for pre-order.  Only available to those that'll be at Comic-Con but they did say they're holding some back for the web site later.  I'm still thinking I'd like to score one of those Shocktrooper busts.  Should have gotten an Utapau clone but I kind of fucked up on that.

In pseudo GG news, the Republic Commando maquette that they prototyped for Lucasfilm saw a second release this week only now it's in full color.  Mixed reactions about it but the general consensus is that it's a cool statue.

Misc.

Part 3 of the Rancho Obi-Wan tour made it onto Hyperspace last week...I wonder where else you can download it?  Hmm....

Also the new "Sculpting a Galaxy" book has a price upgrade; $395.  Yeah, I didn't miss a decimal in there.  Hey, apparently it could have been $450 so you're getting a deal!  Hmm...rent or a book?  Car payment or a book?  I'm gonna go with rent.

Sideshow

The new 12" figure, Kit Fisto, should be shipping out any day now.  Just got the email yesterday.

Gentle Giant

Forgot to mention that my Blackhole Stormtrooper bust arrived.  I scored #677.  It's not a bad looking bust but I think it's just going to be a trade item towards either that Mara Jade bust or the Shocktrooper from SDCC.

Target Clearance

I picked up a VTSC Greedo and Han on clearance last night and the Greedo is actually a really nice figure.  Han is okay but not a huge upgrade to 2004's VOTC figure.

Toys-R-Us

The new Toys-R-Us retail web site is now up and running.  There seems to be a huge lack of Star Wars items.  Pretty much the newest two waves of carded figures ($8.99 each) and a few vehicles.  Oddly enough they have some higher end Koto and MR items.  Eh, still need that Hunt for Grievous Battle Pack.

Sideshow

Kit Fisto should be shipping next week some time.  I never did  cancel my order but I think I should have.  I guess I'll wait till I get him to decide if I'll keep him.

Still have to run some eBay auctions though and get rid of the Luke figure.

Target

Target, at least my store, is doing a huge renovation and that means a ton of clearanced items.  Apparently other stores are clearancing SW toys also.  The Skirmish in the Senate Battle Pack is down $3 but I'm going to hold out for one more drop in price.  If they're still there I might snag 2 more.

Grievous exclusive was also down about $2 and the VTSC were down a little over $1.  Maybe I'll score a Greedo and Han VTSC if they hit one more markdown.

Kubricks

The newest wave of Kubricks is out.  Haven't looked into getting a set yet but I may.  Also a bunch of figure pictures for future waves have made it out of Japan.

GI Joe

The GI Joe Convention is going on this weekend in New Orleans.  A couple new pictures have hit the web including the con exclusive bonus items for the 12" and 3.75" lines.  There is a lead dog for the 12" set that looks cool.  I don't think I'll get one as they're for con attendees only IIRC.

Acme Archives

The next character key to be released to the general public is Anakin and we finally have a confirmation that it'll be the fully clothed version.  I'm happy, I didn't care for the shirtless, tattooed version.

Sales open at Comic-Con but this is NOT the exclusive.  It'll be on-line on July 19th and sell for $30.  It's a 1000 piece edition.
