Last Tour to Endor

Last Tour to Endor

On Saturday, August 14th we had the opportunity to attend the Last Tour to Endor event at Disney.  During the evening several rides were open, including Star Tours which will close later this year in order to receive a redesign.

Many of the events that are popular during Star Wars Weekends were presented during the event, including the Jedi Training Academy, trivia challenge and the "Death Star Disco."

Disney characters throughout the park were dressed as our favorite Star Wars characters, including Mickey Mouse as Jedi Mickey, Donald Duck as a Stormtrooper and Goofy as Darth Vader.

During the event, a special Indian Jones attraction was held, titled Raiders of the Lost Jedi Temple of Doom.  The event was directed by two winners of the Lucasfilm Fan Films and, as the title implies, was a mashup of Indiana Jones and Star Wars.  We attended the 9:50 show and George Lucas was in the audience along with Anthony Daniels, Dave Filoni and several voice actors from the Clone Wars series.

Seth Green, Jamie King and Anthony Daniels participated as "extras" in the event which ran for about an hour.  The story followed Indy as he retrieved a golden lightsaber from a temple and then had to escape from Boba Fett, Darth Maul, street thugs and the Imperial Army, led by Darth Vader.  C-3PO, R2-D2 and even Han Solo and Chewbacca made cameos during the course of the event.

After the Indiana Jones event, we rode the Star Tours ride through twice before heading to Tatooine Traders where Lucasfilm's Head of Fan Relations, Steve Sansweet was checking out the various collectibles.

The final event we attended before heading back to the hotel was the excellent fireworks display.  At over 10 minutes long, the blowout was set to the excellent music of John Williams and featured clips of dialog from all six films of the Saga, telling the Star Wars story.

Check out the fireworks video and then take a peak at the photos from the Star Tours ride below.
