Celebration V Art

Art fans always have an excellent choice of prints that they can pick up at Celebrations.  Acme Archives had a booth on the floor where they were selling higher end paintings and original art while over 40 artists had tables in the Art Show or on the exhibitor floor.  Russell Walks created the official Celebration V poster, which was available in the Celebration Store, as well as offering a print in the Art Show.

While most of the prints were limited to 250 pieces, John Alvin's had an edition of only 100 pieces.  But you didn't have to purchase everything, several artists had free items available at their tables, including Tom Hodges' Attraction posters.

In the above photo you'll see four pieces of art that I picked up; Walks' Celebration V poster, Chris Trevas' "The Hunter and His Prey" and Malcolm Tween's "Exit Echo Base."

Also shown is David Rabbitte's excellent concept Boba Fett piece which was free at his table.

The Art Show area was packed for most of the weekend, with lines of nearly 3 hours at times to check out.  The talented Star Wars artists are always fun to meet and speak with and whether or not you make a purchase, if you enjoy art I urge everyone to at least stop by the Art Show at a convention such as Celebration.

8-9-2010

Acme Archives will be running the Star Wars Art Show throughout the convention.  The Art Show will take place in the Celebration Experience Exhibit Hall.  Between the Art Show and the exhibit hall, there are 44 artists attending the convention.

Each print in the Art Show will be limited to 250 pieces.  Sizes and prices vary by artist.  However, be sure to stop by the artist's tables during the show as some will have free giveaways throughout the weekend.
