The Vader Project
One of the busiest attractions over the weekend was The Vader
Project. Master Replicas provided a number of artists with
1:1 replicas of Darth Vader's helmet and asked them to turn them
into works of art.
Some chose to paint slogans or characters from the Star Wars
films
on them while others created more radical designs including one
helmet that looked like the Statue of Liberty. Some made
Vader's helmet look even more industrial by adding rivets and
rust and some turned the helmets into peace symbols covered in
flowers or pin-up girls.
My favorite was by Suckadelic. He turned his helmet into
Luke's home on Tatooine, complete with Luke, Jawas, droids,
moisture vaporators and even a certain boom-box carrying Bounty
Hunter.
