Fan Fair

The fans that attend the Celebration events are what really can make the event enjoyable.  You can run from dealer to dealer to the store, but watching people in costume or participating in the events is what makes Celebration fun.

Since Celebration II, the Fan Fair hall has been a place for clubs to show off what they do to help make Star Wars forever.

At Celebration IV the PSWCS had a booth in the Fan Fair hall as did the DCSWCC along with the 501st, Rebel Legion, Lego Community, Sacramento Valley Rogue Force and TheForce.net to name a few.  Many had free swag to give out over the weekend if you took the time to stop in and ask.

Game Stop, Wizards of the Coast and WizKids all had plenty of activities going on over the weekend and the Jedi Training stage was never without a young Padawan waiting for his chance to take on Darth Vader.

Shane Turgeon debuted his new book, "The Force in the Flesh," in the Fan Fair hall while Lawrence Noble began carving an awesome bust of Obi-Wan Kenobi at a booth right behind the PSWCS.  That bust was later raffled off to a lucky winner.

The USPS had a shipping station in the hall as well as a booth selling the newest Star Wars stamps.

Besides the Jedi Training, the main draw was probably the Endor diorama which had fans young and old participating all five days of Celebration.  There was also a second diorama set up in the hall which depicted a Tatooine city and a small part of a forested planet.

Fans, whether on their own or aligned with the 501st or Rebel Legion, wandered through in costume during the weekend.  There were plenty of photo ops if you had your camera ready.

Even with all the panels that you could attend over the weekend, the Fan Fair hall was one of the most fun areas to hang out, people watch, relax and have fun meeting fellow fans.
