Sunday - 5-27-2007) Droid BuildersOne of the coolest displays at Celebration IV had to be the Droid Builders room. From R2-D2 Astromech droids to protocol to mouse droids, if it appeared in a Star Wars film someone has built it. Not only do these droids look like they could have appeared on film but they are also animated. Most have lights and sounds and wheels so they can roll while some even add animated domes with moving parts. Cameras and holo projection units, with special screens for display, have been incorporated into some of the models on display. If you wander through long enough you can also find Gonk droids, Sith probe droids and even a Jawa or two scavenging for parts. Two of the coolest droids, in my opinion, were the Mustafar lava droid and the McQuarrie concept R2-D2.
